– In a bold step this week, the two premier Councils managing
Seller Agency courses and designations for real estate agents
agreed to merge their operations to create the largest and undisputed
leader in Seller Agency. The two Councils joining forces are
the five year old
Accredited Seller Agency Council, the oldest Seller Agency
organization in the real estate industry, and upcoming Seller
Agency Council, Inc., which was launched six months ago
by RealtyU®, the nation’s largest network of real
estate schools.
"Joe Kennedy, the founder of The
Accredited Seller Agency Council (www.selleragency.com)
and the Accredited Seller
Representative (ASR®) designation, was ahead of his
time when he launched the first course on seller agency back
in 2001 a few years after the National Association of REALTORS®
(NAR) acquired REBAC (Real Estate Buyer’s AGENT Council)
and the ABR® (Accredited Buyer Representative®) designation,”
said Stefan Swanepoel, Chairman and CEO of RealtyU®. “With
the advance of buyer agency and the growing concerns over
dual agency, training in seller agency now opens the opportunity
for REALTORS® to sharpen their listing and marketing skills
before working with home sellers,”
According to Kennedy, "merging with RealtyU®'s
Seller Agency Council is a huge positive for the real estate
industry and a logical evolution for the two Councils as it
now unites the best Seller Agency designation with the nation's
largest network of 200+
real estate training locations. Seller Agency is clearly
a concept whose time has come and is rapidly evolving into
one of the fastest growing educational needs among real estate
agents. Through the hundreds of real estate instructors in
the network of RealtyU® real estate schools, the ASR®
designation will be offered in most cities across the country
in 2006,” he concluded.
Agents desirous to getting ahead of the curve can secure
a spot now by emailing Joe Kennedy at JoeKennedy@sellergaency.com.
