Jim Hogan

Jim Hogan, ABR, DREI opened Hogan School of Real Estate in 1973. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Hogan School has grown from the new school on the block to the premier real estate education provider in southern Arizona.

Jim's simple business philosophy is drawn from his soda jerk days in Brooklyn, N.Y. While Jim was struggling to create his first ice cream soda, his boss grabbed the meager scoop of ice cream from Jim’s hand, dug deep into the freezer, came up with a bountiful ball of chocolate, stuffed it into the glass and said, “Make it like you’re making it for yourself.” Jim says that’s the best advice he’s ever received and he and his wife, Esther, (Hogan School’s director) make it the cornerstone of their operation.

As a REALTOR®, mortgage broker and investor Jim is involved in the industry. As an educator, he has helped “billions” begin and sustain successful real estate careers. His door is always open to anyone with a question or seeking advice. Aside from teaching pre-license classes and continuing education seminars Jim devotes substantial time to course development. He and Curtis Hall developed the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council’s (REBAC) elective class, “Innovative Marketing for Buyer Representatives,” and teach Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation classes throughout Arizona, California & Hawaii.

Jim is a charter member and past director of the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA). In 1983 he was one of the first educators to be awarded REEA’s Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) designation. In 2002 Jim and Esther were inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame. He is also a singer/songwriter and recently released his first CD, “Home In Arizona.”
