St. Louis, Missouri, July 20th, 2005 -
Career Education Systems (CES), A RealtyU ® Affiliate, announced today that
it has purchased American School of Real Estate, the number two real estate school
in St. Louis.
CES, currently the largest provider of real estate education and training in
Kansas and Missouri, expects to now train an additional 700 pre-license students
per year in its St. Louis classrooms. Based on pass/fail statistics issued by
the Missouri Real Estate Commission, CES currently trains nearly 20% of new licensees
in the state. With the addition of American School students, CES will train approximately
32% of new Missouri licensees. According to Mark Barker, CEO of Career Education
Systems, "American School of Real Estate has a long-standing tradition in St.
Louis. St. Louis real estate professionals will now benefit from an expanded
level of education programs and services.”
As part of the RealtyU® network of providers, former American School students
will now have access to designations offered only by Career Education Systems. “Newly
licensed professionals will now have the opportunity to jump start their careers
with the Accredited Real Estate Professional (AREP®) and the Career Management
Real Estate Professional (CMREP) designations. Experienced agents will benefit
from cutting edge designation and continuing education programs” according
to Barker.
Richard Linkemer, former owner of American School of Real Estate will retire
from the classroom after 20 years of serving the real estate industry. Nearly
15 of those years were with American School. “Rich will be missed by his
former students” says Barker, “but CES is proud to serve the St Louis
real estate community.”
